Mini-Reunion 2012

The reunion committee met this week and has decided that our class needs another mid-term reunion. 

We had one between our 50th and 55th reunions when we met at Jack and Darlene (Busby) Quinn's place on the beach in Long Beach.  Although we drew classmates almost entirely from the Southern California area, we still had 43 in attendance and had a great time seeing each other.  The cost for that event was $50 per person.

For this mini-reunion, we will be meeting at 5:00pm on September 9, 2012 at the El Dorado Park Golf Course, 2400 N. Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90815.  Because the facility we are renting there requires a minimum of 50 people, we are reducing the per person cost to $43 to encourage more classmates to attend.  The committee will make up the difference from funds generously contributed by some of our members.  A buffet supper will begin at 6:30pm.

The details for our 60th reunion will begin to form after this mini-reunion.

Our committee will meet again on May 21 to assemble a mailing to all of our classmates with our formal invitation.  In the meantime, please reserve September 9 on your calendar and plan to come together with us.

Darlene (Busby) Quinn

Darlene sends along her thanks to all of you who voted for the trailer of her book, Webs of Fate.  It ended up winning second place with 621 votes, just 80 below first place, which had an early lead of nearly 200 votes.  Her second-place finish provides one month of free advertising on all four of the YouGottaRead websites.
